Verse 1
We’re here.   Look around.  It’s undeniable.
We’re here.  Working hard, and mostly lovable.
God made us.  He made everything.
Now He’s sending us a flood to wreck it all.
Doesn’t seem to me like love; did we do something wrong?
I try so hard to understand - Does He Really Have a Plan?

Verse 2
He’s God.  He’s in control.  He’s uncontainable.
He’s God.  He’s asking us to be so trainable.
What good is this?  What lesson can we learn?
At least He sent us a warning, so we’d have a chance.
But the job’s so alarming; I don’t think we can.
Oh, I try so hard to understand - Does He Really Have a Plan?

Dear God, are you still here?  I’m feeling doubtable.
Dear God, I have to ask, is that forgivable?
I want to trust; to know I’m in your hands.
How can I, though, when we seem so far apart?
Come close to me now.  Remind me whose child I am.
I try so hard to understand.  Do you really have a plan?
